It is the most competitive part of the market, so pricing is keen and implements are easy to find. It is also the easiest to resell, which matters when you are still learning what you actually need.

Questions to ask the dealer

  • What is the itemised on-road price, not just ex-showroom?
  • What does the free-service schedule cover, and where is the workshop?
  • What lifting capacity does it have, and what is the PTO horsepower?
  • What is the exchange value if I upgrade in three years?

Do not skip the test drive

Drive it with an implement attached, not empty. An unloaded tractor tells you almost nothing about how it will behave at work.
