What matters for haulage

Engine torque at low revs, brake capacity, and a gearbox with usable road speeds. Raw horsepower matters less than the ability to hold a loaded trolley on a gradient.

Weight and brakes

A tractor pulling a loaded trolley needs enough weight of its own to brake it safely. Under-weighting the tractor is the most common and most dangerous mistake in haulage work.

Running cost

Haulage racks up hours fast. Service intervals arrive much sooner than on a field-only tractor, so factor maintenance into the economics before buying.
