Best Tractor for Small Farmers

On 1 to 4 acres the right tractor is the smallest one that still runs your implements. Anything bigger is capital and diesel you will not get back.

Start from the implements

List what you actually need to run — usually a cultivator, a small rotavator and a trailer — and size the tractor to the widest of them. Buying power "for later" rarely pays off on a small holding.

Consider a used tractor

At this budget a well-maintained second-hand tractor often buys more capability than a new one. Check the hour meter against visible wear, ask for service records, and confirm the RC is clear.

Subsidies

Central and state schemes for farm machinery change frequently and can meaningfully reduce the cost. Check what is currently open before finalising the purchase.
