India's State with the Most Mushrooms

Bihar is now India's biggest mushroom producer, making more than 28,000 tons in 2021–22, which is 10.82% of the national total. It has moved up from 13th place three years ago, beating Maharashtra.

Maharashtra

According to data from the horticulture board, Maharashtra is the second largest producer of mushrooms in India, after Bihar. The state makes up 9.89% of the total mushroom production in the country.

Odisha

Odisha is the third-largest producer of mushrooms in India, making up 9.66% of the country's total. The state's straw mushrooms are very well-known and loved.

Haryana

The Sonipat district in Haryana is famous for growing mushrooms. The Haryana government gives general farmers a 40% subsidy and scheduled caste farmers up to 90% to help them grow more.

Punjab

There are about 400 mushroom farmers in different parts of Punjab. The state grows between 45,000 and 48,000 tons of mushrooms each year on average.
