Who a 70–75 HP tractor is for

Tractors in the 70–75 HP band are generally bought for the heaviest field operations and sustained commercial haulage. Horsepower on its own is a poor way to choose a tractor — two machines with the same engine rating can behave very differently depending on lifting capacity, hydraulics and gearbox ratios.

• Lifting capacity — this, not horsepower, decides which mounted implements the tractor can actually carry.
