Best Tractor for Orchards and Vineyards

Orchard work is decided by width and turning circle. A tractor that cannot pass between rows is useless regardless of its specification.

Measure your rows first

Take the narrowest row spacing on your land and subtract clearance on both sides. That number, not the horsepower, is your first filter. Narrow-track and orchard variants exist precisely for this.

Height and canopy damage

Overall height matters where branches hang low. A standard tractor with a raised exhaust or a rollbar will strip fruit and damage limbs.

Power

Orchard work is mostly spraying, mowing and light haulage, so 20–30 HP is usually sufficient. Buy for manoeuvrability, not for pulling power you will never use.
