Fire Compensation from CM Farm Barn Accident Scheme

The Chief Minister Farm Barn Accident Assistance Scheme compensates producers for fire-related losses.

In order to safeguard farmers against the unpredictable effects of climatic conditions, the government has initiated the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. Farmers are compensated under this programme in the event that their crops are harmed by precipitation, hail, or storm. However, arson-induced crop loss is not accounted for in this total. In such a circumstance, the farmer incurs loss and receives no compensation in the event of a fire in the field.

In consideration of this issue, the Chief Minister Farm Barn Accident Assistance Scheme was established. In the event that a fire breaks out in the farmer's field as a result of a short circuit, the resulting loss may be reimbursed via this scheme.

1 lakh rupees will be provided to farmers in the event of crop loss caused by a brief circuit.

The majority of wheat is seeded during the Rabi season. At this moment, wheat harvesting is in progress. Wheat cultivation is most prevalent in the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Punjab. During this time, farmers' harvests are frequently reduced to ashes in an instant by a spark or short circuit. Consequently, it is critical that producers safeguard the prepared wheat crop against fire in addition to attending to its other needs. In spite of this, crop insurance does not provide assistance to farmers whose crops are destroyed by fires that break out in their fields, resulting in financial losses. The producers are receiving assistance from the Chief Minister Farm Barn Accident Assistance Scheme in this predicament. Farmers may be eligible for financial assistance of up to Rs 1 lakh under this programme.

Regulations governing the reimbursement of agricultural damage caused by fire as stipulated in the scheme:

Farmers who own land measuring no more than 5 acres are awarded a compensation of Rs 20,000, while those who own land measuring more than 5 acres are granted Rs 30,000. The producers receive this compensation in proportion to the damage sustained to their crops. The cultivator may be entitled to compensation in excess of Rs 1 lakh in the event of a catastrophic loss.

As compensation, the following commodities will be compensated for losses:

Included among the cereal commodities covered by the Chief Minister Farm Barn Accident Assistance Scheme are wheat, paddy, maize, millet, moong, lentils, and rye, among others. Compensatory measures shall be implemented in the event that fire damages these commodities. Nevertheless, fire-induced injury to the sugarcane crop is not accounted for under this scheme. Sugarcane producers will therefore not benefit from this initiative.

Certain eligibility requirements and stipulations govern participation in the Chief Minister Farm Barn Accident Assistance Scheme. Here is a concise and significant enumeration of them:
